Listen Up - TwentyForSeven
This reminds me of the old days. You know, like, eight years ago.
I used to work with and book concerts for local pop punk bands, and I loved it. The poppier, the better. These days, with pop and electronic production programs getting cheaper and easier to use, more artists and “bands” are popping up everywhere, and pop is spreading.
Pop band TwentyForSeven (yes, without the u) make me think about the groups I used to work with back then. They have the look and the sound, only a little more updated. Basically, they are just a bunch of guys in their late teens or early twenties rocking out. This time the sound may be a little more produced than it would have been several years ago, but the feeling is the same.
The band has a couple of fun original tracks that show their potential, but they also spend a lot of their time doing covers. Because who doesn’t love poppy covers?
And some covers!
…and a mashup of the best pop songs of 2012. What a perfect way to finish this big year for the band. If this doesn’t win you over, I can’t imagine what would.
(I really like lead singer Rajiv’s voice. He’s a great frontman)
Oh, and then there is this video, which makes me tingle in all the right (WRONG) places:
