Listen Up - Tim & Jean
Another day, another Australian pop duo.
Tim & Jean have actually been on my radar for quite some time now, but to be perfectly honest, I forgot to write about them. Oops. I first “liked” them on Facebook like, two years ago or something, and only when they popped up in my newsfeed this morning (this morning meaning when I am writing this – who knows when I’m going to post this business) did I got “OH SHIT I FORGOT TO WRITE THEM UP!!!”. My bad Tim & Jean. Tim Ayre and Jean Capotorto came together not too long ago and made some really excellent indie dance pop. The two singles may not have charted (the two singles are belowww), but the album made it to #12, so things aren’t all bad. And then there’s the music, which is of course great. And that’s just what they sent around for radio and publicity and NOTICE ME purposes. Then there were quite a number of other really wonderful tracks on the album as welllllll. Old school harmonies like whaaaaaat. Love Tim & Jean. I would love to see them come over and fill the void that MGMT left when they turned their back on this style of music. Could be big. AND, as if all this weren’t good enough, the two are back in the studio! ‘Like What’ (their album) came out over a year ago, so it’s about that time. Don’t expect a new CD for a little while, but just the fact that more of this is coming is something to look forward to. Tim & Jean’s debut album ‘Like What’ is available online, but it’s expensive (it is an import ya know). Maybe you can find it on itunes or something for cheaper? Good luck. Also, they are online and reallllll friendly. That’s how I came to fall in love! |
