Listen Up - Parade
Man, the British LOVE their girl groups, don’t they?
If I had a nickel for every time I wrote about a collection of four to six British (and Irish!) girls that got together, wore sexy outfits, and sang pop songs, I’d probably be rich. In fact, why aren’t you all reading this more? If you were, I probably would be rich. See those pretty (not pretty) ads on the side and bottom of this article? If you click those, I make money. So…I’m not saying you should click…but…you should probably click… AHEM. Parade is the newest of these groups to warrant my writing about them. The five-piece had an album come out last year that didn’t sell very well (it peaked at #171), but the two singles off it did somewhat well. “Louder” peaked at #10, and follow up “Perfume” cracked the top forty, reaching #38. You’d think that two top forty songs (including a top ten!) would make the album sell better, but that’s just not how these things work sometimes. Parade is in the studio working on their follow up, due out sometime in 2013. The first single (or maybe buzz single, not sure) is out now, and lucky us – the girls are giving it away for free! “Light Me Up” is a drum & bass/dubstep beat turned pop song. Who knew you could do that? The girls do it well, and if this is the direction their new album is taking, I’m very interested in hearing it. Let’s take a listen and see if that’s even something you’d be interested in having. Free is wonderful, but only if you only actually want it. Now, just click here to get the single for free! God, those Brits LOVE their girl groups so bad, don’t they? Don’t think those three songs are the only things that the group has to offer, either. The album was pretty good in my opinion. I won’t post everything from it (for many obvious reasons), but they had a few of the songs posted, so here’s a sample of the rest: So, that’s Parade. Glad you two met. Look Parade up on Facebook and be their friend. I’m sure they’ll love it. PS - not for nothing, but I'm pretty sure I know where they got the idea for their logo (by which I mean the look and font):

(Pop punk mavens Mayday Parade probably don't mind this, but just throwing it out there) |
