9.9.12 - New Music - Robbie Williams
British singer-songwriter and just overall mega superstar Robbie Williams released the first single from his upcoming ninth (NINTH!) solo studio album the other day. The track, called “Candy” is an uptempo horn-driven beat that makes you smile and dance and just about anything else you can think of (that is positive).
The song was co-written with his former Take That bandmate Gay Barlow. Robbie sings about a girl who thinks she is candy (take that to mean whatever you like), and asks “If it don’t feel good / What are you doing it for?”. The song is a great lead single for someone like Robbie, and I can only imagine great things from the new CD (called ‘Take The Crown’). The song is not available in the US, and don’t expect it to be any time soon. The single isn’t even going to be released in his homeland of the UK until mid to late October (seems a bit early to be premiering it, doesn’t it?), and he has never done well in the US. Maybe this time will be different? |
