8.30.12 - New Music - No Doubt and Major Lazer
God damn. Everything No Doubt is doing right now is KILLING IT. “Settle Down” was the perfect lead single, and now they’ve brought us all something new to whet out appetites for their upcoming album ‘Push and Shove’, due out September 25th.
This time around it is the title track. I am not sure if it is a single or not, but just getting to listen to it is quite enough for me (even if I do have to hear that stupid “On Air with Ryan Seacreast” dub). The song features production from Major Lazer (whose production prowess is unmistakable and who also get a feature spot) and a rap verse from Jamaican dancehall/reggae artist Busy Signal. It reminds me a lot of when ND used to collaborate with a similar artist – Bounty Killer – on “Hey Baby” from their last album. The song is spectacular, and even finds Gwen singing over a unique dubstep breakdown/chorus. Did you ever think you’d see the day? No Doubt – “Push and Shove (ft. Busy Signal and Major Lazer)” Unfortunately the song isn’t available yet, but the album is out in less than a month, so just hold your horses for a moment and before you know it, you’ll have it! |
