8.22.12 - New Music - Leona Lewis and Childish Gambino
Leona Lewis is almost done reworking her ‘Glassheart’ album, and she’s close enough to release a new single.
The first single off Leona’s third album (which is out in October, at least in the UK) was “Collide”. The song did fairly well in the UK – peaking at number five – but it got her in some trouble. She sampled Avicii a little too heavily, and she ended up having to give him a feature credit. Glad they could work that out. Now she’s back with a new song that sounds a lot more like what we know of her. Think along the lines of “Bleeding Love”, “Better In Time” or “Happy” and you’ve got her newest, “Trouble”. The song was written by Emeli Sande (my favorite), and it features a guest vocal from Childish Gambino (one of my favorites). Here’s a radio rip of it. Hopefully a lot of you can hear it before someone takes it down. Leona Lewis – “Trouble (ft. I won’t say it is bad, but it’s really not for me. I accept that Leona certainly has talent, and that she has made some very high quality pop, but that I just don’t get it. Sometimes everyone agrees on these things, but there is that one person who doesn’t see it. I’m that guy. I accept that I’m that guy though, so all is ok. “Trouble (ft. Childish Gambino)” isn’t available until October, so I’m sorry for teasing if you loved it. |
