8.19.12 - New Music - Timomatic
I first wrote about Timomatic back in February when I first came across his existence. Since then I haven’t paid him much attention (and neither has the rest of the world, all except for his home country of Australia). In the few months that have passed, Timomatic (real name Tim Omaji, which reminds me a lot of Nicki Minaj’s real name Onika Maraj) has released two new singles. One came out months ago (and I missed it), and the other is still a bit newish.
“Can You Feel It” is the second single off Timo’s sophomore album, which will be self-titled. The album is coming out only a year after his first, which had a #2 hit (“Set It Off, which I wrote about), but completely failed to chart. Timomatic is hoping to change that with his second. Timomatic – “Can You Feel It”

The song peaked at #18 in Australia, making it his third top twenty, but lowest charting single. I don’t disagree, and I would never have put it that high. I don’t care for Timomatic to be quite frank. I have now heard two singles of his, and I have to find anything that separates him from other dance-pop artists that have only one thing to sing about. We already have Taio Cruz, thanks. If he disappears, maybe there will be more room for you. Until then, I think Timomatic needs to differentiate himself or stay content with only being an Australian thing. “Can You Feel It” is not available in the US, and no word on if it ever will be. |
