Whenever Janelle Monae returns to the music scene, the world gets a little brighter.

New single “Dance Apocalyptic” is really a spectacle—the tune and the video. The second single from Monae’s upcoming ‘The Electric Lady’ is typical of what we know her for: upbeat, swinging, a whole bunch of old-school, and original. If nothing else, Janelle is always original.

I don’t know how I feel about her stepping outside of her typical look though – I’ve always loved it so much! This new style is fun for sure, but the tight blazers and completely unique hair was always a win.

You know what, who even cares. “Dance Apocalyptica” is fantastic, and ‘The Electric Lady’ will be that times ten.
