6.9.13 - New Music - Justin Timberlake

Pretty much anything that Justin Timberlake puts out is going to be successful. We all know that, right?

While this may be an undisputable fact, I didn’t expect this CD to perform so well single-wise. I liked “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors”, but they don’t really fit into today’s Top 40 landscape. To me, they sound a bit dated for Timberlake. We’ve always known him to produce this kind of music, so I was thinking they might chart somewhere mediocre – low 30’s at best.

JT proved me wrong, and is continuing to do so. Right now “Mirrors” is sitting pretty at #2 on the Hot 100. New single “Tunnel Vision” might be the song that breaks his streak. While the song is beautiful and one of the best off ‘The 20/20 Experience’, does it have the power to make it to the top 20? 10?

Probably. And I would say that this one deserves it more than “Suit & Tie”.
