6.7.12 - New Music - Flo Rida and Redfoo

Flo Rida never disappoints.

Not even a lyric video, the preview video of “Run” is completely shameless, but you just have to love it. But why not? Flo Rida has never tried to do anything more than make people dance and have a good time, and you must admit, he always succeeds.

“Run” features one half LMFAO (and if you make it to his verse, you’ll see that he almost ruins the song with lines like “running through my arms like draino” [YES, HE HAS NOW SAID THAT TWICE] and he ends his verse with the poignant “eatin’ a mango!”) and is apparently the official fourth single off Flo Rida’s new album “Wild Ones”, which is out July 3rd.

While the song is instantly infectious and exactly what it needs to be, isn’t it a little soon since his last single? “Whistle” barely had a chance to make an impact in the US (where it only peaked at #64, whereas in most countries it made it to the top 10). If he’s not careful, he’s going to run out of singles before the album is even out.

I mean, hell, I only wrote about “Whistle” a few weeks ago. These things take time! “Run” could probably be a huge smash, but you gotta spread these things out. That’s how you sell big albums.

What's sad is that yet again, Flo Rida has failed to credit the female vocal on his single. He did the same with "Right Round", which featured a little lady who went on to do alright by herself anyways. That lady was Ke$ha, but many people didn't know this until much later. Who knows what pop talent we're missing by him not giving credit where credit is due?
