6.29.12 - New Music - Tesla Boy

I know this might not excite you like it excites me, but just bear with me for a minute (or three minutes and forty four seconds).

I’ve only mentioned Tesla Boy once, way back in July of 2010 when I reviewed their album ‘Modern Thrills’ (which I liked quite a bit). TB is back, and goddamn they haven’t missed a beat. “Fantasy” is easily one of their best tracks; a perfect recycling of everything 80’s, and yet it is still fresh. There are a plethora of groups out there bringing new wave into the current day via their Macs and a partial knowledge of the soundscape of the 1980’s. I’m loving it, don’t get me wrong, but whenever there is a movement, there will always be those that stand above the rest. Tesla Boy is one of (if not the) best of the names making this kind of music today, and “Fantasy” proves it.
