5.5.13 - New Music - Pet Shop Boys

It may be terrible to say, but I am glad this song doesn’t have any vocals in it.

I like the Pet Shop Boys – dated as they sound – but something about the lead singer’s voice just hits me the wrong way. I can’t explain what it is, but I’ve accepted it and I try to look past it. Thankfully, new single “Axis” has very few vocals, and they are so processed you can’t even tell who is saying what.

“Axis” may not be a single (not sure what’s going on just yet), but it is the first track to be released from upcoming ‘Electric’, and boy is it something to behold. Stuart Price picked up production duties for this album cycle, and his presence can be felt in the unrelenting electro vibe that this offbeat song gives off.

This may end up being my favorite PSB album yet.
