5 Questions With - Chris Wallace

We have only mentioned Chris Wallace once or twice, but it seems he is becoming a big deal. Itunes named his debut ‘Push Rewind’ the Breakthrough Pop Album of 2012, and that is saying something, as there certainly were a number of really great pop albums this past year (ummm, Carly Rae Jepsen anyone?).
So, what does Chris do to celebrate such an honorary title? Why, he chats with Pop! Bang! Boom! of course. What else?
1. First, congrats on having Itunes name your CD the "Breakthrough Pop Album of 2012". There were a lot of fantastic debuts this past year, so that's quite the distinction. How does that feel?
It feels great, its a huge honor to be recognized next to such amazing talent!
2. When I first listened to you, I had no idea you used to front the White Tie Affair. What made you go solo?
Yeah, white tie affair was such an amazing experience. The other guys in the band were pretty much done touring and playing music. After we broke up, I immediately started writing my solo album.
3. I've spoken to a lot of pop artists that want to make it big, but your ambition is really something. What drives you so hard?
I think theres just something inside of me that loves what I do more that anything in the world.... and time seems to weed out the people who don't want it enough. Making and performing music is so much fun to me, i'll never stop.
4. When I listen to 'Push Rewind', I can hear so many different pop influences. Tell us, who are some artists that have really inspired you? Anyone you look up to most?
I've really always been obsessed with pop music. I think I blame my older sister for listening for turning her radio up so loud and it bleeding into my bedroom ha. I really look up to career artists who consistently put out great albums, like Pink, Taylor, Maroon 5.
5. (We ask everyone this) Who are some artists or groups that you are listening to now that we should all go out and try? Ones we might not know...?
The Macklemore and Ryan Lewis the heist is a really fresh album. I also really have always loved the band Sublime ha.
I was surprised to see that Chris fronted a pop band that I liked so much a few years ago. It’s very good to see that he isn’t letting the hurdles of the music industry get in his way. ‘Push Rewind’ is a great leap for him, and I think it is his next step in making it big.
I am sure that Chris is already hard at work on album number two, so you should spend some time listening to the first. You’ll be prepped and ready for Chris to take over Top 40 radio after that.
