New Music - Ed Sheeran
“Sing” is a fine enough song, but it is totally out of place coming out of Ed Sheeran’s mouth. You can’t hear him on this at all. Instead, all you feel is Pharell’s production and Justin Timberlake’s vocals. In fact, this feels like something written and produced for JT’s debut solo album, but that didn’t make the cut. It’s a shame, because Sheeran has become one of the biggest stars in the music world, and so many people were anticipating his follow up. This is going to bring in some new faces, but those that really loved the biggest songs off ‘+’ might be disappointed. Notice also that I didn’t say it’s a great song but out of place--it’s not. It feels like an album track, not the highest-charting single in the US of his career (which it is). |
