New Music - Katy Perry
It’s hard to believe we’re already on single number four from Katy Perry’s new album, isn’t it? It has happened much faster this CD around than with the previous two--with those, each of the singles seemed to have a longer shelf life. But hey, you can’t blame people for not wanting to hear “Unconditionally” on the radio. “Birthday” feels like a typical Katy Perry song--light, airy, and undeniably catchy. It’s so much fun, and the kind of track everyone can get on board with. When your friend plays this at their house party, you’ll have fun. When the remix comes on at the club, you’ll dance like a fool. I’m not shy in saying that this is easily better than “Dark Horse” or “Unconditionally”, and a fine choice for a single. Think of it as this album’s “Last Friday Night (TGIF)”. |
