4.10.13 - New Music - Hanson

The brothers of Hanson are really working this independent thing. It’s a tough route, but these days it seems less and less necessary to need a major label. Mackelmore is doing it. OkGo is doing it. Hanson has been doing it for years, and they seem to only be getting better.

Hanson’s last album was fantastic, and lead single “Thinkin’ Bout Something” was one of my favorites of the year (way back in 2010). The lead single from their upcoming ninth album ‘Anthem’ follows the same sound, only the boys are making things even more soulful. A full band, real, full guitars and a chorus that you want to sing and dance along to make up “Get The Girl Back”.

The single isn’t going to chart – though it’s better than a lot of songs that will – but this is easily one of my favorite songs of the summer. ‘Anthem’ is out in June, and if this track doesn’t make you want a copy, you’re not listening.
