2.6.13 - New Music - Justin Bieber and Drake
‘Believe’, the third full-length from Justin Bieber, is now splitting its singles up around the world, aiming to dominate every market simultaneously.
In America, the fourth single (following “Boyfriend”, “As Long As You Love Me [ft. Big Sean]” and “Beauty and a Beat [ft. Nicki Minaj]”) is set to be “Right Here”, which features Drake. I guess Bieber is trying to show us all how much swag he has with all these guest stars. The song was sent to rhythmic radio, but knowing both these guys’ popularity, I doubt it will stay in such a segmented market. The track is decidedly less pop than “Beauty and a Beat”, landing somewhere closer to “Boyfriend”. Part hip-hop, part R&B, there is more singing than rapping. It is a tad bit weird having Drake and Justin singing about just wanting to hold…each other? This might have been better suited for a female vocal, but what do I know. The song isn’t terribly exciting, but that is alright for a fourth single. Just wait until number five comes out – it’ll be another pop track and we’ll be back where we expect Bieber. |
