NEW MUSIC - NATE RUESS
While fun. is on a hiatus, we have all three members working on their solo projects, each one of which sound pretty good so far. Jack Antonoff’s Bleachers is doing well, Andrew Dorst’s movie scores are going to be amazing (I mean, duh), and now we know that Nate Ruess’ solo album is probably going to be a winner, if the lead single is any indication. “Nothing Without Love” sounds like a track that fun. recorded for their last album, only to leave it on the cutting room floor. Ruess must’ve picked it back up, dusted it off, and went with it. I don’t blame him--the track is in the same vein as “We Are Young”, and that paid off pretty well, didn’t it? It’s also good to hear that even if the band isn’t together at the moment, the world won’t be completely devoid of that signature sound, one which Ruess seems to be claiming as his own for good. |
