New Music - Ellie Goulding“Goodness Gracious” is technically the sixth single from Ellie Goulding’s ‘Halcyon’, though its the second to be released from the re-release ‘Halcyon Days’. First re-release single “Burn” became her first #1 in the UK (and her second highest charting single in the US), and so her label decided promotion should continue. If I had my way, Ellie Goulding would always be on the radio.
The tune is notably more upbeat than most of the material on ‘Halcyon’, but it matches the electronic energy of ‘Days’. The effects on her vocals are done extremely well, in that they allow her beautifully restrained voice stand out, but still sound manipulated in a way that matches the song. This will surely do well in the UK, as it’s really a jam. Hopefully we’ll hear it in the US…? |
