1.27.12 - New Music - Chris Brown

No matter what else you want to say about him (which he is probably terribly tired of hearing anyways), you gotta hand it to the guy: he knows how to WORK.

Brown’s fourth album ‘F.A.M.E.’ was released last year, and spawned six singles (one of which – “Yeah 3x” being in 2010, but who is really counting), all of which charted in the Hot 100 (including four top 40 hits). As if that wasn’t enough, he is also almost done with his fifth CD – to be titled ‘Fortune’ – which might be out as early as March.

‘Fortune’ has already seen the release of the Kevin McCall-assisted “Strip”, which peaked respectably at #51. Now we can hear the second (and much more dance friendly) single, “Turn Up The Music”. “Turn” is clearly aimed at the same people who liked “Yeah 3x” and “Forever”, as well as all pop and Top 40 radio stations.

I am not impressed by the lyrics, but that doesn’t mean the song isn’t still catchy and fun (which it is).

I can see this doing pretty well. Brown does very well at R&B and pop, and he is killing it everywhere he goes lately. Again, we all have our thoughts on him, but either way, he is doing everything in his power to get back to exactly where he is.
