1.21.13 - New Music - Afrojack and Chris Brown

Afrojack has done a great job not only making a name for himself in the EDM world, but also as a producer. He got his first big break working with Pitbull on “Give Me Everything”, which earned them both a #1. His productions on Pitbull’s latest album weren’t so great, but I’m sure P thought they were just spectacular.

Lately I have thought that a lot of his stuff has sounded…tired. Uninspired. Done before. Since EDM has exploded, a lot of what we hear now in the mainstream can be boring, and this is why I get a little weary whenever he (or his contemporaries like Swedish House Mafia or David Guetta) put out a single. Sometimes I’m really into it. Other times, I’m yawning.

This is one of the latter times. When Afrojack finally does release his album, it won’t be full of mega hits, but it will be one of the better-selling electronic albums that year for sure, and it will be laden with many a popular name. This time around we’re looking at a collaboration with Chris Brown.

To be honest…I think Brown spices this one up. The music isn’t terribly special (save for the blips that pop up here and there), but I do like Chris’ screams towards the end. Reminds me of “Turn Up The Music”, another typical dance tracks that I felt was saved by his excited hollering towards the end.
