11.25.12 - New Music - Ashlee Simpson

After this long, I was tremendously excited to see that Ashlee Simpson was recording new music. She might not have been a critical darling, and maybe her last album tanked, but I have really enjoyed pretty much everything she’s ever put out. Her singles especially, but her CDs had a lot of good pop on there that the world never heard.

But, then I actually listened to the new single, and I wasn’t as excited as I used to be…

The song is almost as out there as the lead single from her last CD, “Outta My Head”, only this one isn’t quite so…good. Not only does it sound amateurish, but it is seriously lacking. I am definitely not going to write this project off, but this is not the best start to revitalizing a career.
