11.16.12 - New Music - Ke$ha
Any day that Ke$ha releases a new “single” is a good day.
“C’mon” is the first promotional single off her upcoming sophomore album ‘Warrior’, which is due out December 4th in the US. We have already heard “Die Young”, which is the official first single, and we all love it. “C’mon” is just meant to build some buzz, and boy is it going to do that.
The tune is everything we want from K$ - electropop, partying all night, not thinking about tomorrow, and at least one reference to an alcoholic beverage brand (this time Budweiser). It’s a simple song, and one that might not otherwise have its day as a single. If you know her discography well (which, if you’re reading this blog, chances are you really do), I’d compare it to “Crazy Beautiful Life” – good and catchy, but not quite enough for the Top 40 radio.
The song is also absolutely nothing new when it comes to the “singer”. Same lyrics, same themes, same sound, same producers. This time around she needed a bit more help writing (there are six writers), which is kind of funny if you listen to it.
It’s obviously a great little pop song, and I am even more excited for ‘Warrior’ than I was before.
