11.14.12 - New Music - Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton

I didn’t want to write about this song, but it has been labeled “country pop”, so here we go.

Since “Your Body” didn’t do so well, despite her label leaving it on the table for some time, the second single from Christina’s ‘Lotus’ is a collab with her The Voice judge Blake Shelton.

The song is fine. It isn’t really country pop (the word country doesn’t really have a place there), but I guess since Blake Shelton is featured we’re calling it that. They both do alright – Christina oversings it as usual – and the song should perform somewhat well. I can’t help feeling that it just isn’t that special though. This is more of an adult contemporary thing than a real country or pop hit.
