1.1.13 - New Music - Flo Rida
Having five singles from an album that only had nine songs is pretty impressive. “Let It Roll” is such a single, and though it has actually completely failed to chart in the US, that doesn’t mean it isn’t going to do things worldwide. In the UK it was a top 20 hit (the only single from the album not to reach the top 10, but #17 is better than the US!).
The song is absolutely typical of Flo Rida, and perhaps this is why US radio passed on this option. We’ve heard this before – four times in the past year and a half alone, so maybe that’s enough for now. “Let It Roll” follows Flo Rida’s formula – the one that has been working well for him lately. A bombastic club beat, an old school sample and an easily-followed rap about women, money, drinking, and being out past your bedtime. Sure, it will get you dancing, but you’ll hate yourself in the morning. |
