1.10.13 - New Music - Pink and Nate Ruess
Pink’s ‘The Truth About Love’ powers on, this time looking for a slow, soft hit.
fun.’s Nate Ruess joins the fun, writing and dueting with the singer-songwriter. Ruess has become one of pop’s most sought-after songwriters, as in the past year (while touring and promoting his own band’s MASSIVE singles and album) he has written Ke$ha’s “Die Young” as well as working with Pink. The song is a heartfelt affair, and not very far from what we’re used to hearing from Pink. It seems that she is either very angry or very sad, but thankfully she does both very well. Nate is a welcome addition, in writing and in singing. Basically, the song works. It isn’t my favorite on the album – not even of all the slower tunes – but it’s still miles ahead of what many other popstars can produce. |
