10.7.12 - New Music - Reece Mastin
Wait, isn’t this Hot Chelle Rae’s “Tonight, Tonight”?
(yes, it’s a radio rip. Get over it) Reece Mastin – “Rockstar”

The Australian pop star is sure to have another huge hit with this one. In his new single “Rockstar”, Reece Mastin takes cues from HCR in name dropping celebrities and bringing more than a bit of a sense of humor to a pop song. Musically, this is nothing new. In fact, it’s a bit tired. We’ve heard all this before – the punk-turned-pop, the whistling…everything. And, while Reece has never exactly been one to reinvent music (you can hear his last singles here and here), this is especially…not special. Seeing as how he has only released three singles, and two went to number one and the other peaked at number two, I’m willing to bet that this is still going to do well. If not in the long-term, than maybe it will just be a quick up-and-down hit. “Rockstar” isn’t available in the US. |
