10.5.12 - New Music - Tulisa

Tulisa is really making this solo effort happen a lot more than I thought she could.

The British singer was a member of hip-hop/dance group N-Dubz, but recently they were having troubles and split (perhaps for a short time, perhaps for good – it isn’t certain yet). Since then, Ms. Contostalvos (that’s why she just goes by one name) has embarked out on her own, releasing a few singles in preparation for her debut solo album ‘Tulisa’ (clever title) next month.

Her first single “Young” debuted at number one, showing that the UK listeners still love her. Second single “Live It Up (ft. Tyga)” peaked at number 11, which isn’t too bad either.

Considering that this song sucks and I hate it, I would be rather proud of a number 11 placing by her.

The song keeps her hip-hop flavor, but is so bland and boring that I basically fell asleep. Not only are the lyrics trite and so overdone, but the beat is utterly plain. I mean, this shit isn’t supposed to make me dance, is it?

“Live It Up (ft. Tyga)” is not available in the US (thank youuu).
