10.24.12 - New Music - Jay Sean
Even with a producer like Afrojack at the helms I’m still bored of Jay Sean.
Jay Sean – “So High”

Some artists strike gold once or twice and then never seem to be able to recapture it. Jay Sean appeared at the same time as artists like Jason Derulo and Iyaz (where the FUCK is Iyaz?!?!), but he hasn’t yet been able to come back with another hit. His “Down” set him up for huge fame, but instead, it seems like he is destined to be a one-hit wonder (at least in the US). He apparently recorded an entire follow-up album, but then it was scrapped. We heard bits of that album – Nicki Minaj stepped in on “2012 (It Ain’t The End)”, and then a song called “Hit The Lights” with Lil Wayne happened for a second. Neither of these singles did a whole lot, so the whole thing was scrapped (dumb), and he’s trying again…with the same stuff. First came the Pitbull-featuring “I’m All Yours” (which we didn’t like one bit) and now this. So, when do you just either put out an album, let it flop, and move on, or do you put your hands up and say “well, I had a good run.”? Jay Sean is sure to let us know soon enough. “So High” isn’t available yet, but will be soon. |
