10.23.12 - New Music - Nicki Minaj
FINALLY. After fucking around with every single goddamn song on her album, Nicki Minaj’s label has said that “Va Va Voom” will finally have its day in the sun.
After the success of both “Starships” and “Pound The Alarm”, the equally as catchy and dancefloor-ready banger is being sent to Mainstream/Top 40 radio stations today, October 23rd. The song has been doing well internationally (as well as charting in the US on the week that her album was released due only to strong downloads), but she’s been putting it off in favor of other releases.
The song was released in the UK earlier this month, and it has already become a top twenty hit. You just KNOW that this shit is going to do realll well in the US. I mean, COME ON.
Now, what’s really ridiculous about all of this is that “Va Va Voom” is released today. Her Cassie-assisted single “The Boys” (the first off of the re-release of ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’) was out less than a month ago, and she JUST released a video for promotional single/nothing “Come On a Cone” like, yesterday.
DA FUCK IS THIS MARKETING PLAN?!?!
Who is letting this girl release four singles in the span of…a month? That’s an insane waste of money and time. If you want an album to have eight singles, fine, but make em good, and stretch that shit over like, two plus years. Next thing you know you’re going to be nine singles deep in a year and need a new album.
