New Music - Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s album My Everything is already a big success, no one can argue that. It went to number one (her second in less than a year), and it has already spawned the single “Problem (ft. Iggy Azalea)” and “Break Free (ft. Zedd)”, both of which performed very well on the charts and on radio. She could walk away now and start on album number three (which, to be honest, she probably already is) and call it a win, but of course there’s plenty left to enjoy. Her third single “Love Me Harder” is another collab, this time with R&B expert songwriter The Weeknd, who steps into the spotlight (slightly, but still) with his Ne-Yo-style vocals bringing a new depth to the song. “Love Me Harder” is a pretty great track, and it’s the best so far at showing what Ariana is really best at. While she can certainly rock a typical dancey pop track (see: “Break Free”), she’s best at the R&B-leaning, emotionally-tinged stuff, delicate but powerful. “Love” is just that, and it’s truly a standout on the album. |
