10.17.13 - New Music - Bonnie McKee

A young woman is at a party when she starts to realize that everyone has turned into zombies. Amidst her panic, she is pulled into a closet to prepare to fight them by none other than Bonnie McKee.

With the American Girl, Alex Ridha of Boyz Noize, and a collection of comic book style freeze frames of zombie fighting, there really isn't any song cooler than "Sleepwalker," right now.

While "American Girl" was a great anthem-style pop song, McKee's style has changed to a grittier, more club friendly sound with her new single.

The video pays homage to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" with the Night of the Living Dead theme, but also remains original with the gory addition of the two characters mercilessly destroying the undead with hockey sticks. She also kind of looks like a punk vampire in the video, which in itself is fantastic.

Oh, and she kisses a girl before the battle for, like, 7 seconds.

The hook is great. Hands down. McKee has shown progression as a pop artist and has transferred into the dance scene. And a Halloween-themed song/video combo was a great decision seeing as Halloween is essentially pre-New Years New Years for anyone 21+.

Overall, the song is pretty cool. We at PopBangBoom enjoyed both the song and the zombie apoca-liplock. Bonnie McKee is definitely one to follow.
