New Music - Calvin Harris
It’s nice that in between releasing mega smash pop hits like “Summer” and “Blame”, Calvin Harris likes to remind everyone that he is, when you look back at his history of music, a creative and inventive electronic music producer. This is a bit outside of “pop music”, so I maybe shouldn’t be writing it up for this site, but it’s pretty good, and Harris has become a staple in the pop world. “Slow Acid” is the fourth single from his upcoming new album, set to be released in November. So far, the previous three singles have all gone straight to number one in the UK, so “Acid” has a lot to live up to. Will it become his fourth in a row to do the same? I’m willing to be it won’t, only because it’s not very radio-friendly. No words doesn’t make for a great sing-a-long, does it? No matter. “Slow Acid” is a jam and will do fine enough, and there’s plenty more to come from Calvin. The album isn’t out for two weeks and he’s already putting out a fourth single? Nonsense. With the lineup expected from ‘Motion’, his album, which includes the likes of Ellie Goulding, Gwen Stefani and Tinashe, do we really think this isn’t going to do well? |
